2 Peter 2
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a
long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
covetousness-πλεονεξία-pleonexia-greedy desire to have more, covetousness, avarice
Pleonexia, sometimes called pleonexy, originating from the Greek πλεονεξία, is a philosophical concept
which roughly corresponds to greed, covetousness, or avarice, and is strictly defined as "the insatiable
desire to have what rightfully belongs to others"
feigned-πλαστός-moulded, formed, as from clay, wax, or stone, invented, artificial, false, spurious,
fictitious, counterfeit
And through the insatiable desire to have what rightfully belongs to others shall they with invented,
fictitious words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their
damnation slumbereth not.
